Kaptions uses Google's Gemini API to automatically convert Hindi (Devanagari) captions into Hinglish (Roman script). Your key is stored locally in your browser and is never sent to any server other than Google's API directly.

1. Go to Google AI Studio → API Keys
2. Click Create API key (free tier is sufficient)
3. Copy the key and paste it below

Kaptions transcribes your audio using an on-device AI speech model (OpenAI's Whisper small, ~250 MB). It runs entirely in your browser — your video and audio never leave your device.

• One-time download. The model downloads once and is cached in your browser's storage, so future visits start instantly with no re-download.
• Stored locally. It's kept in your browser's Cache Storage on this device only — not on any server and not in your account.
• Easy to remove. You can delete the model anytime from the Video panel (“Delete model”), or by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
